I would like to comment on the photo:
I do find the contrast of the rusty and dilapidated light with the “pure” sign interesting, but I also like the angle you took the photo, very architechtural with the light, post, and power pole lines in the background. Speaking of contrast, the use of light and the colors themselves (white vs brown)draw your eye to the image dramatically. Very creatively captured, “pure”ly portrayed.

You know I’ve got to comment on this one. My comments usually revolve around the symbol rather than the art, but of course they are inseparable and you mix them with equal abundance. And what a symbol! A giant oil company sign standing tall against a pristine sky that reads “PURE.” There’s nothing “pure” about oil, is there?. It’s nasty; it stinks; it corrupts; it pollutes (although that sky certainly looks unaffected). Oil has done worse than that: it has–let me think now–linked the world together. Oh no; that’s a good thing. How about the wonderful standard of living it has fetched us. Oops, strike that statement. It’s made millions of people rich. Yes! Rich people. Now that’s bad. They just go out and spend their riches on stuff we make and services we provide, and…Oops. Strike that too. How about I just say, “Great pic!” Brad?
